Mubariz Siddiqui is the founder of Carbon Law, a full stack provider of legal and commercial advisory services to investors and startups. He is the leading startup lawyer of Pakistan with extensive experience working with startups, venture capital funds, and angel investors. Till date he has advised investors and startups deploy and raise more than USD 250m across several deals.

He has been practicing law since 2008. Before founding Carbon Law Mubariz was the General Counsel at Sarmayacar, one of the largest Pakistan focused venture capital funds. He previously worked at Hub Power Company, where Mubariz was the head of legal for two China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) power projects in Thar with a cumulative project cost of more than US$ 1 billion. Mubariz has also worked at RIAA Barker Gillette, and Orr Dignam & Co.

Mubariz undertakes various initiatives to help with founder education around governance and fund raising and his work related to the same has been published in publications around the country.

He frequently works with regulators on policy initiatives to facilitate foreign investment and innovative early-stage businesses in Pakistan. Specifically, his work with the State Bank of Pakistan to allow Pakistani founders to set up and operate holding companies outside of Pakistan is widely credited to have been a fundamental building block to enabling record startup investment in Pakistan in recent years.
